TacTie is a new revolutionary Tactical Tie system that can be used in just about any situation in the snap of a finger. TacTie can be stored anywhere plus it is reusable, releasable, and affordable. 
I started working on making TacTie prototypes in 2010 and completed the first semi-working prototype in late 2013.
I first started researching the web in 2010 to see if there was anything like the idea i had and noticed after a while there was not. First I started with ordering a variety of zip ties to find the ideal length and width for my research and development phase. Once i knew what i wanted i then had to create a custom mold to make an impression of the teeth and locking system used in all standard zip ties, this was the most frustrating and enduring part of my process. 
After this phase of the creation was complete I then started to try it out in the field placing it around things such as tree branches, cables, and anything it could be used for. One problem i encountered was after using it on hard rugged objects it tended to wear out the teeth on the tie to the point it was not reusable for as long as I'd like it to be.
Back to the drawing board! I couldn't figure out for a while how to solve this problem without increasing the hardness of the plastics thus making TacTie less flexible and more brittle. 
As soon as i felt like giving up it hit me like a ton of bricks at my job. During an orthopedic operation i noticed the answer was right in-front of my face once again and didn't relies it. 
TacTie just like the human body has a skeleton and like any skeleton that gives shape and form it needs an exoskeleton to support and protect its self and prevent damage from the outside world.
It was so simple, all it needed was a durable, flexible sleeve to protect its structure. First i tried fabrics which didn't to the trick and then leather which was OK but still i wasn't happy with it, then came across an old wetsuit. The wetsuit material was perfect, it was flexible, cushioned, and waterproof making it reusable over and over again in the most perfect way imaginable.

Now i had my finished semi-working prototype and was extremely proud of what I thought I would never finish. To better protect my invention I then filed with the United States Patent Office so TacTie is now patent pending 61/965,532.
Once i received the patent pending application filing number back I contacted mold and fabrication facilities to have them explain the process of production, time and cost.

What Will We Do With The Money Raised?

Your pledge will cover the cost to have TacTie fabricated and one mold to be made and with a life span of 750,000 injections. This can produce up to 100,000 TacTie's per month until the mold is worn out and a second needs to be made again. Total production time for this process is 1 month for mold and fabrication and 1 month for production after my approval is given. The second process is creating the Neoprene protective sleeve which i will have stitched in New York's garment district. This should take less time to do since it is only one continuous stitch and should be ready at the same time the TacTie's are done.
Once i receive both ends of the product i will attach each sleeve to the TacTie and ship out immediately.
Your pledges will cover the costs of the mold, fabrication, materials, and shipping cost. Since I'm an independent start-up company I will need your support and pledges in order to pay for all the cost that a start-up encounters in the beginning of our journey and look forward to rewarding our backers with being the first to experience my new product.

Our Tactical Tie system weighs only 35 grams and can support up to 250lbs of holding power. With its releasable switch you are able to use TacTie over and over again.

TacTie can be carried anywhere from the belt loops to backpacks without ever being noticed or felt due to its flexibility and air weight design.
